Central Texas man charged in theft of $100,000 from elderly aunt

WACO, Texas (KWTX) An Oglesby man was free on bond Wednesday after he was charged in connection with the theft of more than $100,000 from an elderly aunt.
Waco police arrested Nicholas Scott Gomez, 35, after a judge issued warrants charging misapplication of fiduciary funds and theft from an elderly individual.
Gomes turned himself in and was booked into county jail.
He was later released after posting a $15,000 bond.
Two relatives of the 88-year-old victim reported the theft.
The told police the woman had granted powers of attorney to several family members including Gomez, so they could manage her accounts because she is not able to.
