TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The man accused of taking money and other items while holding power of attorney has pleaded guilty to three counts of embezzlement.

Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood's office says Louis Aldridge entered the guilty plea during a hearing Wednesday in Lee County Circuit Court.

Aldridge was accused of taking nearly $550,000 from Florence Aldridge and converting it for personal use.

Janice Aldridge faces a two count indictment in connection with the case.

State Representative Brian Aldridge faced a grand larceny charge that was dropped by prosecutors after Florence Aldridge died.

The Aldridge's had been ordered to repay the money by a Lee County Chancery Court judge prior to the indictments.

Louis Aldridge will be sentenced Friday, February 6.

TUPELO – The trial to decide if Rep. Brian Aldridge of Tupelo and his parents stole from a relative’s estate is being moved again.
Aldridge, 36, along with his father Louis Aldridge, 64, and mother Janice Aldridge, 61, were indicted June 28 on embezzlement charges.
They were scheduled to go to trial before Circuit Judge James L. Roberts Jr. on Monday, but the trial will be rescheduled after defense attorney T.K. Moffett asked for a continuance since he has a conflicting court appearance scheduled.
The embezzlement charges against the Aldridge family stem from a loss of more than $522,000 from the accounts of Florence Aldridge, who gave her power of attorney to her brother-in-law, Louis Aldridge, when she became ill in 2005.
Brian Aldridge is charged with one count of grand larceny and his parents on multiple charges of embezzlement.
The Republican Lee County representative faces resignation from the Mississippi House of Representatives if he is convicted on the charge.
The case was originally scheduled to go to trial in October before being continued to Feb. 3.
A new trial date will be set at a later point in time.
