MO NAELA President Testified Before Senate on Financial Abuse of Seniors

The Senate Aging Committee held a hearing,Trust Betrayed: Financial Abuse of Older Americans by Guardians and Others in Power. Current NAELA Missouri Chapter President Jessica Kruse testified in her own capacity.
According to the Senate Aging Committee, the hearing examines the financial abuse of older adults within the context of fiduciary relationships and other relationships of trust. The Committee also unveiled the GAO's latest study on guardianship abuse, building off a 2010 study that "found hundreds of cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and identified $5.4 million that had been improperly diverted."
Kruse testified from her experience in witnessing and stopping financial abuse as an elder law attorney in the state of Missouri.
Kruse graduated with honors from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2006, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tulsa Journal of Comparative and International Law. She focuses her practice of law on elder law, probate, and estate planning. Jessica was recently awarded the Rising Star award at the Women's Justice Awards, recognizing achievements of women attorneys in the State of Missouri.
