The Core values of America are being ignored across the board.
On the South and West sides of Chicago decent people live in fear. They cannot sit in their homes without bullets penetrating the 'close' and injuring someone. They cannot send their children to the store or to school without fear that they will not return alive. Some have to travel many miles to purchase a bottle of milk because merchants cannot and will not locate shops in areas that are essentially a war zone. The casualty count in Chicago most weeks exceeds that in the middle east where a war is going on.
On the corrupt political elite and the mainstream media do not get it. All most people want is to be safe, be warm, and have an honest opportunity to provide for their families. For nothing more than the political ambitions of a few opportunists the West and South side residents have to live under these conditions.
It is time for a re-evaluation of how we approach our problems and how we honor our core values. The "jewish mother approach" of the new deal, fair deal, **** have to be replaced by action not slogans or manifestos. We have to have jobs! SEnator Durbin talks about raising the minimum wage as giving people a raise! The media applauds loudly as do all the knee jerks! What our society does not realize is that small businesses are going to close and it will not be practical for new businesses to open. Thus, the job pool will be decreased! Some raise!
Our jobs will go overseas and the big will get bigger and the rich richer.
Slogans and promises have replaced reality across America. The vast majority of Americans do not want something for nothing - they adhere to our core values; however, we have been lax in honestly evaluating the people we elect to public office and who we allow them to appoint as surrogates. An individual who is not pleasant to look at cannot be elected no matter how capable. An ugly disposition coupled with intellectual dishonesty in a handsome person is the ideal elected individual. If that person has an IQ of 5 so much the better!
