Granny Locked Up in Basement While Family Was on Week-long Holiday

Tulsa, OK | An 82-year old grandmother has been locked up in the family basement for the past four days while her relatives had left her for a week-long holiday in Mexico before local police officers were alerted by neighbors.

The poor old woman that suffers from Alzheimer’s disease eventually was able to gnaw through the dog leash her 47-year old son had attached to a wooden beam and managed to break a window with a crowbar.
Neighbors only realized hours later that the faint voice they were hearing was in fact the neighbor’s mother that had been held prisoner in the family home’s basement for the past four days.

The woman’s son got a hell of a surprise when back from his trip to Mexico he was arrested by local law enforcement agents

“We were still supposed to spend Christmas with her” told the disgraced son to officer James Wilson, coming back from his week-long trip to Mexico. “I left her enough water and food for like a month” he tried to justify for his dangerous criminal behavior

The unworthy son had left her the bare minimum: a chair, a bed, a tv set, a microwave and access to the basement freezer. An impressive amount of frozen tv dinners had been purchased for the senior woman. She also had access to tap water, but all these things won’t help out the man in court admits officer Samson Grey, present during the arrest.
“This is just plain sad, so close to Christmas too” admits a neighbor. “I would’ve never thought he was capable of doing such a hideous thing” adds another local resident, visibly shocked.
The man’s wife and two kids had no idea the man had done this to his mother and will not be prosecuted, acknowledges a local legal expert.
