Some holiday thoughts:
What goes around comes around. For many years it has been generally understood that in Cook County a certain amount of corruption would be tolerated and in fact is was. The accounts of Operation Greylord provided some very impressive numbers. 15 judges hauled off the jail for misconduct and where bribery was involved the bribes were reported to be as low as $200.00. This fact indicated just how the badly the judicial system had deteriorated. When several score of Judges resigned their positions shock waves ran through the public and the old adage “it is not what you know, but who you know” became a ‘watchword.’
Several decades later the corrupt members of the judiciary are once again raising their ugly heads and it is again time to ‘clean house.’ This time the corruption is more venal and better protected by the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission administered by Jerome Larkin. Mr. L Amu was charged with Practicing Law while ‘Black’ and given a suspension of 3 years when he echoed in a tone that was audible with audio assistance complaints that ‘white ‘ lawyers have been discretely crying about for more than a decade. Amu committed the sin of including the IARDC in his audience. He was such a ‘danger’ to the community because of his exercise of his First Amendment Right that the Illinois Supreme Court suspended him immediately.
The Congress decades ago become upset at the idea that citizen could watch miscreants perform felonies and treat the events such as they would a soccer or football match. The passed 18 USCA 4 which criminalized the spectator aspect of felony miscreant behavior. Of course this offended Larkin and when Cynthia Farenga sent a copy of the blog ‘ Probate Sharks’ to him in which my appeal for an HONEST complete and comprehensive investigation of elder cleansing by law enforcement was called for, he reacted immediately accusing me of making untrue and reckless statements. As JoAnne Denison had echoed my call for an HONEST complete and investigation by law enforcement and was a lawyer, soon thereafter she faced his wrath and ethics disciplinary proceeding. As the authors of Probate Sharks are not lawyers Larkin could not prosecute them and he could find no law that could be tortured so as to silence that ‘blog.’
Thus, we enter into the Christmas season and North Korea is accused by our government of attempting to silence ‘movies’ and private communications that they feel oppressed because of. The media is in a frenzy! How dare North Korea to attempt to intimidate us for speaking out! Thus, we come to our first axiom, to wit: It is absolutely proper for censorship to be imposed by home grown terrorists, on non-favored lawyers, but, we draw the line at foreigners acting as surrogates to Jerome Larkin. The Illinois Supreme Court has abdicated its Constitutional duties to Larkin and appears to rubber-stamp the assault on the First Amendment.
The Amu case facts are so outrageous as to boggle the mind. How could this happen in twenty first century America! No matter how one tries to reconcile it or Ms. Denison’s or my case for that matter, the only honest conclusion is that somewhere, and somehow in the dark of Night North Korea invaded America and substituted their mores for that we as America grew up with! The credo of America went from “ Justice and Liberty for all, regardless of your race, color creed, National origin, religion ***” to “don’t speak, if you must speak, don’t write, however, if you must write, write a denial” Never in human civilization have so many lost so much in so little time! (Unless we wake up! Toss Larkin and his cronies into Jail and take back America!)
This Christmas I written to Santa Claus and asked him that I receive for my Christmas giftmy America back! I long to live once again in a country devoid of overt corrupt judicial and public figures who lack respect for the ‘core’ values that I grew up to expect were irrevocably yours and mine! I long to live in an America in which a ‘man or woman’ is judged not Political or Judicial influence, but by his/her merit and certainly not by his/her religion, ethnic background, or race.
