Two employees at a St. Charles residential care center have been charged with physically abusing an elderly resident and videotaping the incident, authorities said today.
The victim reportedly wasn’t injured, according to a news release from the St. Charles police department.
The alleged attack occurred Tuesday at the Rosewood Care Center in the 800 block of Dunham Road, according to the release.
An administrator at the center told police that two employees were suspected of “physically abusing an elderly resident...and videotaping” what happened, the release said.
Jacqueline Santos and Chemyra Barnett, both 18, of South Elgin were charged with one count of aggravated battery of a person over 60 and one count for unlawful videotaping, the release said.
Both suspects were taken to the Kane County Jail.
