Japanese women lag in leadership to rest of world

TOKYO (AP) -- Faced with a shrinking population, Japan is trying to woo women back into the labor force through child care and other policies. But women are now rarely found in leadership positions, although women around the world are increasingly making advances:
Percentage of women in senior management (Grant Thornton International Business Report 2012):
- United Kingdom: 20 percent
- Argentina: 20 percent
- Mexico: 18 percent
- Netherlands: 18 percent
- United States: 17 percent
- United Arab Emirates: 15 percent
- Denmark: 15 percent
- India: 14 percent
- Germany: 13 percent
- Japan: 5 percent
