FBI agents searched the Hancock County courthouse and removed records Wednesday.
Witnesses described the search and said records were being removed from the county's probate court. Agents entered wearing gloves and backpacks, and carrying their own tables and chairs. They also removed large boxes about five feet long, witnesses said.

They also told 13WMAZ that probate court judge Marva Rice was the only county official questioned. Rice did not return our phone calls and could not be reached for comment.
Between 20 and 30 agents arrived before 8:30 a.m. when the court opened.
The GBI and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department said they had no information on the case.
The office of U.S. Attorney Michael Moore said it could not comment because it is a pending investigation.
And FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett told 13WMAZ, "I can confirm that our agents were at the courthouse, but we are not in a position to acknowledge more than that."
One man entering the courthouse just after noon Wednesday, wearing an FBI jacket, referred questions to Emmett.
An employee at the Hancock County commissioners' office confirmed that a search was under way, but she had no further information. The FBI's Macon office also said they had no further information on the search.
