TOKYO, Nov. 16, Kyodo

Japan's public prosecutors plans to question three Olympus Corp. officials, including a former vice president, on a voluntary basis over a coverup of investment losses after a third-party panel ends its probe into the case, sources familiar with the matter said Wednesday.

The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office, which is expected to work with the nation's securities watchdog, plans first to question officials in charge of accounting and then question former Executive Vice President Hisashi Mori following the panel's probe.

The prosecutors are then expected to interrogate the other two officials -- former President and Chairman Tsuyoshi Kikukawa and corporate auditor Hideo Yamada.
