Mycoplasma may have caused emperor's illness
Japan's Imperial Household Agency says mycoplasma, a type of bacteria may be responsible for Emperor Akihito's pneumonia.
The agency said on Friday that the Emperor is recovering and his fever has come down to almost normal after he was given antibiotics. The previous day he was diagnosed as having a mild form of bronchial pneumonia.
The 77-year-old Emperor has been under care at the University of Tokyo Hospital for symptoms of bronchitis since November 6th.
Doctors previously reported that his fever and cough had abated. But his temperature rose again on November 11th, briefly touching 39 degrees Celsius.
The medical team declined to specify how much longer the Emperor will be hospitalized, but said they want him to rest until the end of the month.

Editor's note: Probate Shark would also suggest the administration of steroid therapy...Advair is very effective and I highly recommend it. Lucius Verenus, Schoolmaster, ProbateSharks.com
