Prince dead only 2 weeks: Fighting among siblings as new heirs pop up?
Prince died two weeks ago and during the time since his death a profile of the singer has emerged, which is much different than the reported clean and healthy lifestyle that his staff originally offered up. New reports have emerged that Prince did have Percocet in his system when he died, but the toxicology reports aren't back yet and those tests will indicate just how much of the painkiller he had on board when he died.
The investigation revealed Percocet pills on Prince and they were also found around the house, but yet detectives could not find a doctor who wrote a prescription for the pain medication for Prince anywhere. There is no trace of a viable script written for the celebrity anywhere they've looked. Right now investigators are questioning all the people in Prince's closest circle attempting to find out who was supplying the drug to the iconic star.
The recent story of a pain specialist sending his pre-med son out to Minnesota from California with a bag of medicine keeps getting stranger by the day. It seems the day before he died Prince’s handlers reached out to addiction specialist Dr. Kornfeld, who couldn’t come out to Minnesota right away, but sent his son Andrew, the pre-med student instead, reports MSN News on May 5.
The father and son run the facility Recovery Without Walls and supposedly that medication in Andrew’s bag was to help Prince through his withdrawals. "Suboxone (buprenorphine), a decades-old semi-synthetic drug considered less risky in terms of addiction and overdose than other painkillers linked to increasing addictions and deaths due to prescription drug abuse," reports MSN News.
The medicine was to be given to a doctor in Minnesota to treat Prince and get him stable enough for Andrew Kornfeld to talk him into flying out to their facility in California for treatment. This raises questions on why they didn't contact a local doctor to treat Prince for the withdrawal of opiates. The medication that the pre-med student brought with him is surely available by prescription from a Minnesota doctor.
Andrew never got to talk to Prince. He was with the two staff people at the Paisley Estate when they found Prince dead in the elevator, according to ABC News in their video report of "What We Know So Far."
All sorts of questions have come up surrounding this treatment center in California and why it was this one the staff picked when one of the nation’s premiere treatment centers was just about in Prince’s backyard in Minnesota. The other very strange incident surrounding Prince’s estate is his will, or lack of one.
This is a man who painstakingly fought to keep the rights to his music and he kept all the papers and documents tucked away in a vault. This is not the type of personality that would amass a fortune, oversee it for years and then not have a will drawn up. Tyka Nelson, who is Prince's only full sibling, has not spoken to her brother in 15 years, which is what she reported during a recent interview. Reports have Nelson claiming she should receive more than the others because she is his full sibling.
As ABC News reminds their readers: "The man who once fought to control his own music catalog appears to have died without a will, leaving his multi-million dollar estate up for grabs." And up for grabs it is. CNN reports that Prince's half siblings met this week to talk about his estate and "a source with firsthand knowledge of the discussions about Prince's estate said the initial meeting between the siblings was contentious and ended in shouting." It was not revealed who exploded in anger.
There are almost as many answered questions today about Prince as the people popping up claiming they are his love child or a long-lost relative. The agency researching Prince’s relatives for the sake of the will was only interested in one claim, a man who was born in the 80s to a woman who did spend some time with Prince during that era. If this was the case several decades ago, things would be a mess, but with DNA today, it is cut and dry as to who your relatives are!
It is sad that Prince, who was such a private person, now has his name in the middle of what is seemingly becoming a circus. Arsenio Hall is now suing Sinead O'Connor over what she declared online recently. She accused Hall of giving Prince the drugs. O'Connor wrote:
"Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades.... Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince's and Eddie Murphy's bitch)," O'Connor wrote this on her Facebook page. "Anyone imagining Prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land. Arsenio I've reported you to the Carver County Sheriff's office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie Murphy's house. You best get tidying your man cave."
Prince wrote the song "Nothing Compares 2U," the song that rocketed O'Connor to fame.
