A 23-year-old man shot four people during an apparent robbery attempt at a Gary, Ind. social club Wednesday night before someone shot him, police said.
About 11:30 p.m., the alleged gunman entered the Safe and Sound Senior Citizen Social Club and ordered people to the ground at gunpoint, police said.
The man opened fire soon after, wounding four men, ages 43, 45, 65, and 76, according to Corporal Gabrielle King of the Gary Police Department.
Someone then shot the gunman, who was taken into custody once police arrived at the club. As of 5:30 a.m., police were still working to determine who shot the gunman and whether the gunman had acted alone, police said.
All five men who were shot were hospitalized. Their conditions have not been released.
Police officers remained on the scene early this morning, walking in and out of the social club.
