Mass Murderer Demands Better Video Games In Prison
Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik is already famous among those who follow crazy psychopaths who also play video games. Breivik killed 77 people, played a lot of World of Warcraft, and is currently incarcerated. Now, in a 12-point demand letter to the warden, Breivik wants his PS2 upgraded to a PS3.
Please don't tell this guy that the PS4 is on the market...
Breivik is held in solitary in a Norwegian prison, and says his living conditions are "torture" as he serves out a 21-year sentence. He wants better treatment, according to the Huffington Post:
The demands include better conditions for his daily walk and the right to communicate more freely with the outside world, which he argues are in line with European rights legislation.
He also demanded that his PlayStation 2 games console be upgraded to a Playstation 3 "with access to more adult games that I get to choose myself".
This guy gets a PS2? The man killed 77 people in bomb and gun attacks, including children, and he gets a PS2? Crime — boy I don't know.
Many people would like to link Breivik's insane, criminal behavior to his gaming, which is of course ludicrous. He killed a lot of people in WoW. In related news, I once killed a mouthy adversary on Tatooine in SWTOR, then took off my gear and danced naked in front of his respawn point until he took the bait — and then I laughed when my fully operational guildmate destroyed him. But I'm not like that in real life.
His video game obsession isn't the cause, but rather an expression of his clearly diseased mind. I mean, listen to this:
Other demands include an end to daily physical searches, and access to a PC rather than to a "worthless typewriter with technology dating back to 1873".
In the letter dated January 29 he said that since there has not been any real improvement in his prison conditions, a hunger strike would be "one of the only" options at his disposal.
"The hunger strike won't end until the Minister of Justice (Anders) Anundsen and the head of the KDI (the Norwegian Correctional Services) stop treating me worse than an animal," he said, adding that he would "soon" make public the starting date of his protest action.
I hope someone sends him a copy of Don't Starve, ironically.
