I have been following Probate Sharks, NASGA, and the Mary Sykes blogs for some time. Kudos to these brave souls for speaking out on the horrific exploitation that is taking place on the 18th Floor of the Daley Center (the Cook County Probate Court). This exploitation has been occuring against the elderly and against disabled children who are wards of the probate court.
ReplyDeleteWhile I have not gone public on the blogs with my loved one's story, something similar has occurred in our family. The caring family member was pushed out of the role of guardian, while the attorneys and guardians bent over backwards to have their colleague named as guardian instead of the family member. Once that occurred, the entire estate was depleted with attorneys' fees and guardians' fees. If I were to go public on the blogs, my loved one would then become isolated, as has happened in so many of these cases on these blogs.
My plea to my fellow readers of these blogs: Please report the actions you see to the appropriate agencies. Please see the "contact us" section of Probate Sharks (upper right hand corner). There is a link to a website that lists the contact information to many state and federal agencies where these crimes should be reported. Please be specific with the names involved on the case (all judges, attorneys, guardianship coompanies, guardian ad litem, banks, nursing homes, etc). I have seen many of the same names come up over and over again in the cases in Cook and neighboring counties.
These criminals must be stopped, and the best way to do that is to give the state and federal prosecutors as much information as possible. The only way they can help is if we, the victims, give them as many details on our cases as possible.

Listen Shark, I know of Peter Schmeidel and you are no Peter Schmeidel. Schmeidel is an attorney of complete integrity, honest and incorruptible. It is most likely a lapse of memory. What is this bullshit about him handcuffing a witness in the Probate Court of Cook County and threatening her. Do you honestly believe that Peter Schmeidel threatened to use euthanasia on her dog, Shaggy and her cat, Kitty to reveal assets? In the Probate Court of Cook County? Just cut the crap Shark! ReplyDeleteDear Baywolf, I believe you are reading other blogs or may be misinformed. The ProbateShark blog never mentioned anything about Schmeidel handcuffing Gloria. I assume according to the attached 2011 court transcript that it was a court deputy. To the best of my knowledge ProbateSharks never published any instance of any threat to Shaggy or Kitty. And yes, I do have a gentle hybrid 160 lb. wolf named, Cheyenne. The ProbateShark.com blog always welcomes your constructive comments hopes that you will reconsider and visit our blog soon.
