The beat goes on!
Let's add up the score: two governors, and it appears every political figure in the state is involved. It appears that the cottage industry of 'elder cleansing' is a small part of the 'health care frauds!'
There is so much loose change in the 'health care frauds' that 'honest services' from public officials without supplemental remuneration is unheard of in Illinois. The figure of 70% fraud tax in health care may be too low. Mr. Resko has been out of the news for a while, but his shadow looms very large. Some of the names that were mentioned in the deposition I recently took of a nursing home mogul were reported to me to have 'mob' connections.
I'm delighted that Mr. Holder is prosecuting some of the Chicago connection who are augmenting the health care frauds - however, it appears we need a comprehensive and honest plan for dealing with the criminals who are preying on the elderly, the infirm, and the disabled. This also means that we have to prosecute their(the miscreants aforesaid) protectors including those in the business of regulating lawyers and other professionals.
