A former Upper Arlington lawyer has been indicted on charges of theft, forgery, tampering with records and money laundering, according to the Franklin County prosecutor’s office.
Lindsey T. Burt, 33, is accused of altering a Probate Court document to incorrectly say that she had been made a child’s guardian after his mother died. She then collected death benefits intended for the child, the release says.
The theft of more than $67,000 from a state retirement system occurred from April 2008 to April 2013, the release says.
Burt, of 2628 Berwyn Rd., voluntarily gave up her law license in 2011. She is to be arraigned on Sept. 11.
