Woman, 93, attacked on way to church in Mt. Prospect

A reward has been offered after a 93-year-old woman on her way to church was the victim of a strong-arm robbery this morning in Mount Prospect, police said.
The woman was on the 1500 block of South Linneman at about 6 a.m. when two men attacked her, police said in a statement.
She said she was walking when the men struck her from behind, knocked her to the ground and fled southbound on foot with her purse, police said.
The woman was taken to Northwest Community Hospital by the Mount Prospect Fire Department for a wrist injury, police said.
One of the men was wearing a light brown shirt with dark pants. Both men were about 18 years old, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call the Mount Prospect Police Department at (847)870-5656.
People can make anonymous tips by calling Mount Prospect crime stoppers at (847) 590-7867. Tips through Mount Prospect crime stoppers are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest and prosecution, police said.
