Assisted living center planned in Northbrook
May 4, 2012
Plans are in the works for a new assisted living/dementia care community in Northbrook.
SAS Architects & Planners, based in Northbrook, has been retained by Senior Lifestyle Corp., a national senior housing development and management firm, to design North Shore Place.
The two-phase project will be built on a 7-acre site at 1000 Sunset Ridge Road. Ground will be broken on the first phase in November. The project is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
North Shore Place will consist of a five-story, 156-unit development, with 40 one- and two-bedroom apartments for residents requiring memory support services.
Planned amenities include casual and formal dining rooms, a theater, card room, spiritual center, library/computer center, bank, country store, spa, fitness center, therapy room, arts and crafts center, and three patios.
The second phase will include a one-story, 32-unit assisted living memory care center, geared toward residents with more advanced dementia.
