WHAT'S KEN'S OPINION?

I have always had confidence in the judicial system, and have always found that there are most often two sides to a story. I live and work in Cook County, Illinois. I've broken bread with the Judicial System and it served my clients well. I have not been shy in going nose to nose with the system and by in large the system has worked. Yes there are instances in which I was disappointed and discouraged, but, ****.


That said, after watching intimately how easily Mary Sykes' and Gloria Sykes' human rights were taken from her and how the legal profession and the news media have ignored such a serious matter I am truly concerned about the averments made in the video. We all know that corrupt exists - Illinois has two governors in jail for corruption! We experienced many of our judges going to jail for taking bribes - one judge's bribe was reported to be $200.00! I have fought tooth and nail to try to get law enforcement just take cognizance of the Sykes case to no avail.

My efforts have yielded some fruit - On Mar 8, the ARDC inquiry committee is meeting to determine if they want to prosecute me for accepting an assignment to investigate the Mary Sykes case. Apparently it may be unethical for a lawyer to investigate criminal conduct that is occurring within the Justice System.

Can the Justice system become perfidious and mimic the 3rd world - indeed, it can. Where is the hue and cry in these cases in which so many believe injustice is being served by our elected leaders one form or another? It is in China with Mr. Nixon! Where is our government - especially Mr. Obama's Department of Justice?

Mr Chambers this morning will forward the e-mail to the Department of Justice, the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times, the American Bar Association, and the Illinois Bar Association and asked for a full and complete investigation. I do not know that such demands have not previously fallen on deaf ears, but, if we allow a single citizen to be deprived of his/her civil rights we are all in danger. The National Socialists and the Communists did not just appear one day and impose their will on an innocent population! We allowed it to happen and in fact assisted in the perversion of human rights! We are watching every cycle political campaigns that start the moment that an official is declared the winner and continue until a new candidate is elected. These political campaigns waste zillions of dollars and sell 'empty suits' to mismanage public affairs. Our courts cannot display the ten commandments! It creates a hostile work environment for the lawyers and judges! Indeed, we have allowed some terrible things to happen and as the abuse of Mary and Gloria Sykes is exhibited *****

I have grandchildren - I want them to enjoy the United States of America that was so very good to me, my family, my ancestors and my friends. As the ladies in the League of Women votes proclaim - democracy is not a spectator sport! You want my opinion - first we investigate and determine that we are on solid ground. Second, if we find injustice we band together and raise a hue and cry that forces our government to comply with its constitutional mandate. If our government is too busy on the campaign trail to do its job, or interested in just posturing we have to vote them out of office even if we have to disenfranchise the dead, the incompetent, and the ghosts! In Chicago one our pols in all seriousness pointed out that it was unfair to disenfranchise a person just because he died! (Motor voting and proxy voting cured that injustice!)
