BOOK REPORT: "AGAINST HER WILL--A CAUTIONARY TALE"

John Wyman is the author of "Against Her WIll--A Cautionary Tale" , a book in which he describes his and his mother's experience with guardianship abuse and the system that perpetuates it. Mr. Wyman's descriptions of the challenges he experienced while being held hostage in his mother's guardianship proceeding in Rockford, IL are not dissimilar to experiences we have heard about in the Cook County Probate Court system in Chicago.

Mr. Wyman had been estranged from his abusive mother and other abusive members of his family when he learned his aging mother was in need of assistance. Mr. Wyman selflessly came to his mother's aid and re-entered his mother's life as her guardian. He then found himself entangled in a corrupt court system, which resulted in financial devastation for himself and his mother. Mr. Wyman experienced first hand how members a corrupt court system (whom he rightfully refers to as probate sharks) financially exploited his mother and him. Mr. Wyman wrote this book to help expose what is occurring in corrupt guardianship cases, hoping to effect much needed change.
