Okinawa governor comments on Japan-US talks
Okinawa Governor Hirokazu Nakaima says he will carefully watch future Japan-US talks, as details on today's announcement are still unavailable.
Nakaima said on Wednesday that he hopes the 2 countries' governments will discuss the Futenma base issue with consideration for local people's wishes.
He stressed that it is impossible to implement a plan to relocate Futenma without local agreement, and said he will continue to demand that the base be moved out of the prefecture.
