Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture still retains the special culture of the teahouse district that has been handed down from the Edo period. Mineko (84) and Nori (77) are active geisha who are known for their improvised duets playing a drum and a flute. As the proprietresses of two teahouses that stand facing each other, they are actually rivals, but on stage together they create an elegant sound that overwhelms the audience. The program presents the ladies' annual grand performance held last September despite their struggles with illness.
