A Christmas letter from Ken Ditkowsky
With the push of and the pressure of our daily lives there has to be one day in the year that we can say belongs to me. For me Christmas is that day.
Every year just before Christmas (Yes I know it is a Christian Holiday) I take one of my youngest grandchildren into a toy store and say: "you can pick any toy, any toy and it is yours!" The child runs off and examines then all, and I watch with pure pleasure and happiness. finally after an eternity the chid comes back with a totally inappropriate toy for his/her sex. Little girls come back with 'trucks!' they explain - this is for Ben. This is what I want.
I say Ok, but, you have to pick out a toy for yourself. After the child picks out a toy for each of his/her siblings he picks out one for himself/herself. I lavish in pleasure and can hardly wait for the next Christmas season and the next opportunity to get a good look at the wonderful children and grandchildren that dominate my life. Each time I look at my wife, my children and grandchildren I recognize the riches that the Good Lord has provided me. My cup overflows.
Inspite of any and all unhappiness that you may have suffered over the last year, your cup overflows and we have much to be grateful. We live in Freedom, and plenty! the path to remediation is open to us, and no one can stop us from meeting the challenges that we face. While in all situations the playing field is not level, we do have a playing field and Justice will prevail. 2012 is going to be the year that we've been waiting for - today is the first day of the rest of our lives - Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
