Antioch woman pleads guilty to stealing autistic boy’s therapy dog

An Antioch woman has admitted stealing a therapy dog used to help an autistic child.
Betty Peltier, 58, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor theft charge as part of the plea deal.
A Lake County judge ordered her Wednesday to do 100 hours of community service, and she is to remain on court supervision for one year.
Authorities say Peltier took the Chihuahua named “Peanut” when it wandered away from a family’s home and didn’t return it to the autistic boy until the child’s mother offered a reward
