Elderly woman's body found under piles of trash



The decomposed body of an 80-year woman whom neighbors had not seen in about a year was found buried under mounds of garbage and debris in her West Rogers Park apartment Thursday by city workers.


The workers who found the body of Cecylia Opilka at about noon told WGN-TV they could barely force the door open and that garbage was piled almost to the ceiling.

Neighbors said Opilka lived with an adult son, whom they hadn’t seen in weeks.

Editor's note: Where were the Elder Protective Services to save the poor woman?  They were wasting their time handcuffing and intimidating Gloria Sykes in a stuffy room off the 18th floor Daley Center courtroom last Tuesday.  The Probate Court of Cook County is too busy fleecing the savings accounts of the elderly, rather than saving Cecylia Opilka! SHAME ON THE ELDERLY PROTECTIVE SERVICES!
